8. Personal accident cover for passengers
1. Accidental death
Should the insured die as a direct result of an accident covered by the policy and occurring during the period of insurance, the insurer will indemnify the beneficiaries expressly designated by the insured (or his / her heirs, where no such express designation has been made) with 100% of the sum insured indicated in the policy schedule for this cover.
Moreover, the beneficiaries will be entitled to receive up to 3,000 euros on account of the sum insured to meet expenses incurred as a result of the death.
Where applicable, any payments made previously by the insurer as indemnities for permanent disability caused by the same accident will be deducted from the sum to be received by the beneficiary.

THE FOLLOWING IS NOT COVERED:
For sections 1, 2, and 3 above:
a. Accidents unrelated to the condition of the passenger of the insured vehicle.
b. Accidents covered by the Insurance Compensation Consortium.
c. Accidents resulting from sport competitions, wagers, challenges or exploratory expeditions.
d. Aesthetic sequelae.
e. Health-care expenses that are covered by mandatory automobile insurance or occupational hazard insurance.
